Creena Alison Wong

Synthetic Phonics Professional Trainer, and appointed Trainer Consultant by Jolly Learning UK. She is the founder of Jolly Learners, dedicated to advancing early literacy through phonics based instruction. With over 30 years of experience in early childhood education, she has been implementing Jolly Phonics since 2004 and works closely with the Sabah state government to improve literacy outcomes. As a leader in literacy education, she has trained and mentored teachers, school leaders, and policymakers across Malaysia, and south east Asia, advocating for the systematic adoption of phonics-based literacy programs. Currently pursuing PhD research on the effectiveness of the Synthetic Phonics Approach (SPA) in early English reading and comprehension, she has presented her work at the 24th MELTA International Conference and the Jolly Learning Conference UK, (2015 - 2024). At SEL Conference, she will present the impact of Jolly Phonics in Sarawak’s public preschools and primary schools, highlighting its role in strengthening literacy education and fostering sustainable reading initiatives.
