Dr. Joseph Ramanair is a Senior Lecturer and Research & Innovation Coordinator at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), specializing in TESOL, Educational Technology, and Higher Education Pedagogy. With over two decades of experience in academia, he has a strong track record in curriculum
development, research supervision, and student-centered learning strategies. He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, an MSc in TESOL from the University of Stirling, Scotland, and a BEd in Secondary Education & ELT from the University of Exeter, UK. His expertise spans academic writing, gamification in learning, and ICT in education, with notable contributions to research on brain-based learning, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary teaching challenges in rural schools. Dr. Ramanair has received multiple accolades, including the UNIMAS Excellent Service Award (2023, 2017, 2007) and the Best Paper Award at the 6th Global Summit on Education (2017). He actively contributes to the academic community as an editorial board member, journal reviewer, and speaker at educational conferences. His research has been published in esteemed journals such as Pertanika Journal of Social Sciences & Humanities, 3L: Language, Linguistics, Literature, and the Malaysian Journal of Communication.
